InterContinental Tampa Names James Horsman Managing Director
Horsman Comes to Hotel with more than 28 Years Experience
Tampa, Fla. – The InterContinental Tampa recently named James Horsman as the new managing director of the 323-room hotel. In this position, Horsman oversees all aspects of the operations at the Four Diamond property, including rooms division, food and beverage and sales and marketing.
A 28-year hospitality industry veteran, Horsman most recently served as the managing director of the Stowe Mountain Lodge, Stowe, Vermont, considered the preeminent luxury mountain experience in the US. There, he was charged with opening the $200 million resort and real estate development, coordinating and implementing all pre-opening marketing, sales and recruitment, and even the design elements of the hotel. Prior to that, Horsman was the general manager of the NINE ZERO hotel in Boston where he was responsible for leading the team to several recognitions, including “World’s Best Hotels” by Travel & Leisure and “Gold List: World’s Best Places to Stay” by Conde Nast Traveler. Horsman also has extensive experience with The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company where he has worked as general manager of Ritz-Carlton in Dubai, Philadelphia and Atlanta. During his time with Ritz Carlton, Horsman received numerous awards, including the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award and the Dubai Quality Award. A native of Vermont, Horsman is a graduate of West Chester University in Pennsylvania. He currently resides in Tampa with his wife Ann, and two sons, Ian & Brendan.
