InterContinental Tampa Appoints New Catering Manager
Chuck Rodriguez is Named Catering Manager
WHO: The InterContinental Tampa is centrally located in the heart of the city’s business district, and features 17,000 square feet of flexible, ergonomically designed meeting space.
WHAT: The InterContinental Tampa recently named Chuck Rodriguez as the new catering manager. In this position, Rodriguez is responsible for all social gatherings at the hotel including weddings, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, Quinceaneras and holiday events. Most recently, Rodriguez worked for Unique Vacations where he was the sales and marketing manager for Sandals and Beaches Resorts. In this position, he assisted in the implementation of Sandals weddings by Martha Stewart among 16 Caribbean resorts and managed a team of more than 30 wedding planners in various cities. A 15-year hospitality industry veteran, Rodriguez began his career with Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. where he promoted, planned and executed Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings. He worked a total of 13 years for Disney, including a position as senior sales manager for weddings at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, Calif. He was also instrumental in planning ABC Network’s Extreme Makeover Wedding and was featured on WE Television’s Rich Bride Poor Bride. Rodriguez, a Tampa native, graduated from the University of Tampa. He is a member of the National Association of Catering Executives (NACE) and the Association of Bridal Consultants.
